On August 26, 2016 at 11:17 AM, 4 Fire Companies, and 1 Chief Officer and one Paramedic Transport Unit responded to an accident involving a single vehicle into a structure at 498 Monterrey Road, in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company confirmed a solo vehicle had collided into a 2 story wood frame single family dwelling. An elderly male with an elderly female passenger had lost control of their vehicle while driving downhill.
As additional fire companies arrived, firefighters and paramedic firefighters secured the vehicle while simultaneously beginning advance life support treatment and extrication of the injured female passenger. The victim was treated at scene by firefighter paramedics and made ready for transport to San Francisco General Hospital by a paramedic transport unit.
The elderly male driver was uninjured and fire companies secured the unoccupied home and mitigated the incident in approximately one hour.
The home sustained moderate damage is under evaluation by the City of Pacifica Building and Safety Department, while the incident is under investigation by the City of Pacifica Police Department.
