On February 28, 2019 at 10:03 a.m., 11 Fire Companies, 2 Water Tenders, 1 Fire Investigator, 1 CAL-FIRE Helicopter, 2 CAL-FIRE Hand Crews, 4 Chief Officers Helicopter3 Chief responded to a vegetation fire in San Bruno Mountain County Park on the Northside of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway, near the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found approximately ½ acres of fire in heavy brush burning at a slow rate of spread. Fire companies with assistance from additional firefighters, hand crews and a helicopter were able to contain the fire to 6.1 acres.
No structures were threatened by the fire and there were no injuries to any of the firefighters or civilians. Fire companies will remain on scene throughout the night and into the next day checking for hot spots and completing overhaul operations.
This fire was not within the jurisdiction of North County Fire Authority. The incident was on County and State responsibility land, therefore the cause of the fire is under investigation by CAL-FIRE.
