On July 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. 4 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a vegetation fire behind 147 Shipley in Daly City.
The first arriving fire company on scene reported a vegetation fire of approximately ¼ acre in size and moving up hill. Using hose lines, firefighters knocked down the forward spread before reaching any structures. Firefighters were able to get hose lines around the incident and extinguish fire at approximately 1 acre.
The incident was mitigated, including mop up and overhaul in approximately 1 ½ hours. There were no injuries to firefighters or the public, nor was there any property damage caused by the fire.
The fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau. The North County Fire Authority reminds all residents to safely cut down and remove all dry vegetation around homes and businesses.
