Vegetation Fire in Brisbane

On June 22, 2018 at 3:30 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 1 Air Attack Supervision Plane, 1 Helicopter, 2 Fire Hand Crews and 3 Chief Officers responded to a reported vegetation fire on a hillside above 3401 Bayshore Blvd. in the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company found approximately a quarter acre of vegetation on fire with a moderate rate of spread and pushed by the wind. Firefighters utilized hose lines, mobile attack and hand tools to extinguish the blaze, which was contained in one hour at 5 acres.

Firefighters remained on scene for over two hours mopping up and constructing containment lines around the fire. There was no damage to public or private property due to quick action taken by fire companies, as well there were no injuries to firefighters or the public.

The fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority reminds all residents, property owners and businesses to create defensible space by cutting down and removing all dry and dangerous vegetation.
