On August 16, 2016 at 10:30 p.m., 5 Fire Companies and 1 Chief Officer responded to a structure fire at 9 Salada Avenue in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found a 2-story apartment building with active fire in unit #1. Fire companies made entry into the unit and found flames coming from a rear bedroom. Fire companies used hose lines to contain the fire to the rear bedroom with smoke damage throughout the rest of the unit.
Fire companies remained on scene for over an hour checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 2 residents were displaced by the fire, but received temporary housing through the Red Cross. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
