Structure Fire in Pacifica

On February 11, 2014, at 3:11 p.m., 5 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to reported structure fire at 104 Edgewood Dr. in Pacifica.

Fire companies made entry into the two-story, single family home and found smoke and flames coming from the kitchen.  Firefighters used hose lines to extinguish the fire and keep it contained to the kitchen area, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. While searching the home, firefighters rescued the occupant’s dog, which was found in a rear bedroom. Firefighter paramedics at the scene administered oxygen to the dog, who suffered smoke inhalation. The dog was then released back to the occupants.

There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel, however, five occupants were displaced by the fire and are receiving housing assistance through the Red Cross. The incident was mitigated in approximately two hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau.  The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
