On December 3, 2013, at 12:42 p.m. 7 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a reported structure fire at 364 Genevieve Avenue in Pacifica.
Fire companies arrived on scene and found smoke and flames on the second floor bedroom of a single family home. Fire companies opened up the roof to provide ventilation and utilized hose lines to contain the fire to the floor and room of origin.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately one and half hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to firefighters, but one civilian suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to Seton Hospital. There were four occupants displaced by the fire and will be residing with friends and relatives.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau.The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
