Structure Fire in Pacifica

On December 20, 2013 at 10:32 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a reported structure fire at 19 Brookhaven Ct. in Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company found smoke and flames coming from a second story window of the two story, single family home. Fire companies made entry into the home and located the fire in the kitchen area, and using hose lines extinguished the fire. The fire damaged the kitchen, dining room and family room areas with heavy smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

Fire companies remained on scene for over two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Seven residents who lived in the home were displaced by the fire, and were seeking housing assistance through the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.  The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes.
