On September 18, 2013, at 2:54 a.m. 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a reported structure fire at 29 Vega Court in the City of Pacifica.
The first fire company arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the garage of the two-story single family home. Firefighters used hose lines to extinguish the fire and keep it contained to the garage, however there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. All residents were able to safely evacuate the home.
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul operations. There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians, but two occupants were displaced by the fire and are receiving housing assistance through family and neighbors.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority’s Prevention Services Bureau. The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
