On August 5, 2016 at 10:03 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 556 Miller Avenue in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found a one story, single family home with smoke coming from the front living room window, which had broken due to heat from the fire inside. Fire companies entered the home and used hose lines to contain the fire to the front living room, with heavy smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 2 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 3 residents were displaced by the fire, but made their own arrangements for temporary housing. There were no injuries to any of the residents or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
