On October 9, 2020, at 8:49 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 411 Heathcliff Drive in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found heavy smoke and flames coming from rear second floor of a two-story, single family home. Firefighters made entry through the front door up the stairs to find flames coming from the second floor bathroom and hallway. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire to those areas, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 3 hours checking for fire extension and completing overhaul and mop up operations. Three residents were displaced by the fire and were provided with housing assistance through the American Red Cross. There were no injuries to any of the occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Division.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
