On March 16, 2020, at 4:28 a.m., 4 Fire Companies, 1 Chief Officer and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 5151 Cabrillo Highway in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single story, municipal storm water pump station/public bathroom building. Firefighters made forcible entry through the front doors of the pump station and found heavy smoke and flames in this room and extending into the nearby bathrooms. Firefighters used hose lines and a master stream appliance deployed from the top of an aerial ladder truck to extinguish the fire.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 2 hours checking for fire extension, and completing overhaul and mop up operations. The building was not occupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to any of the or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Division.
