On July 5, 2016 at 12:50 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 1251 Hermosa Avenue in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found a single story, single family home with smoke and flames coming from the front of the garage. Fire companies made entry into the building and using hose lines were able to contain the fire to the garage.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately an hour and a half checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. Three residents were displaced by the fire, but made their own arrangements for temporary housing. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes.
