On July 29, 2017 at 2:06 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 83 Kathleen Ct. in Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found heavy flame emitting from the rear of the 2 story single family dwelling.
Utilizing hose lines, the fire was attacked from the rear of the structure as well as entry into the front of the structure. Upon entry, heavy flame was present in the rear half of the second story. The fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes.
The homeowner was awakened by a smoke detector and all 3 occupants safely evacuated the home.
There were no injuries however the occupants were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately 3.5 hours for ventilation, for salvage and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes and businesses.
