Structure Fire in Daly City

On September 3, 2013, at 10:23 a.m. 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a reported structure fire at 120 Wembley Dr. in Daly City.

Fire companies made entry into the two-story, single family home and found smoke and flames coming from the kitchen.  Firefighters used hose lines to extinguish the fire and keep it contained to the kitchen area, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. All residents were able to safely evacuate the home.

Fire crews remained on scene for over an hour checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul operations.  There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians, but six occupants were displaced by the fire and are received housing assistance through the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau. The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
