Structure Fire in Daly City

On August 4, 2016 at 10:12 a.m., 7 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 1026 Skyline Drive in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found a 2-story, single family home with smoke and flames coming from the front bedroom window.  Fire companies entered the home and used hose lines to contain the fire to the front bedroom, with heavy smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

Fire companies remained on scene for over 3 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 6 residents were displaced by the fire, but made arrangement through the Red Cross for temporary housing. A child who was in the home at the time of the fire suffered smoke inhalation and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
