On November 26, 2020, at 3:15 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 186 and 188 Westlake Ave in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear second and third floor of a townhouse. Firefighters entered through the left open front door for search and rescue. Simultaneously, other firefighters made entry through the side-gate door entering the backyard and used fire service hose lines to confine the fire to the second and third floor
Fire companies remained on the scene for almost two hours, checking for fire extension and completing overhaul and mop-up operations. Nine residents were to stay in their residences. There were no injuries to any of the occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Division.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
