Structure Fire in Daly City

On February 15, 2020, at 09:17 p.m., 11 Engine Companies, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 3 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a house fire at 1137 Hanover Street in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company was on scene within minutes after being dispatched and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the middle of the second floor of the single-family home. Firefighters used fire service hose lines to confine the fire to the second floor. There were fire and smoke damage throughout the second floor of the dwelling, as well as minor damage to the first floor.

The fire was controlled due to an aggressive fire attack. Complete extinguishment and overhaul were completed in approximately four hours and thirty minutes. One adult resident was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries occurred while escaping the fire; no firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Division.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
