On November 25, 2016 at 1:33 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 fire Investigator responded to a single family structure fire at 467 Price Street in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company observed a 2-story single family home with smoke coming from the second floor. Firefighters made entry into the home and found flames, as well as fire extending and penetrating into the attic above. Fire companies used hose lines to contain the fire to floor of origin and attic area.
Fire companies remained on scene for over an hour and a half checking for fire extension, completing salvage and overhaul operations. 6 residents were displaced by the fire, but made their own arrangements for temporary housing.
There were no injuries to any of the firefighters, residents or civilians and the fire cause was investigated and determined to have come from kitchen due to unattended cooking.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
