On July 7, 2019 at 12:13 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 73 Fairlawn Avenue in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front bedroom of a two-story, single family home. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the bedroom. There was smoke damage to other rooms of the home.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 3 hours checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations. Two residents were displaced by the fire and received housing assistance through the Red Cross.
There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
