On December 28, 2017 at 2:43 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 355 Accacia Street in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the doors and eaves of a two-story, single family home. Firefighters made forcible entry into the first and second floor entrances of the home, and found heavy smoke on both floors. Firefighters searched the home and found fire coming form the first and second floor rear bedrooms. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire to both rear bedrooms with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 3 hours checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations. One resident was displaced by the fire and received housing assistance through the Red Cross.
There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or resident.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
