On January 23, 2017 at 12:45 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 150 Shipley Avenue in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the front of a 2-story, single family home. Fire companies made entry and using hose lines were able to contain the fire to the living room. One of the home’s occupants was treated at the scene by firefighter/paramedics for smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital.
Fire companies remained on scene for an hour checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
