Structure Fire in Daly City

On June 9 at 6:43 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at a residence located at 19 Carmel Avenue in Daly City.

The first arriving fire company reported flames coming for the garage and roof of a single family residence. The occupants of the home had self-evacuated from the home. Utilizing hose lines, firefighters made an interior attack on the fire and held the spread to the garage and attic area.

Fire companies remained on scene for approximately three hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, however the occupants were displaced from the residence and alternate living arrangements were made with relatives.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau of the North County Fire Authority.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
