On October 24, 2016 at 4:37 p.m., 9 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 291 Price Street in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire company found a 3-story, apartment building with smoke coming from the roof. Fire companies made entry into the 3rd floor unit of the building and using hose lines were able to contain the fire to the kitchen.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 2 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. One resident was displaced by the fire and received housing assistance through the Red Cross. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
