On March 19 at 6:18 P.M., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at a residence located at 60 Lake Meadow in Daly City.
The first arriving fire company reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the second story of a single family residence. The occupants of the home had self-evacuated upon the arrival of fire companies. Utilizing hose lines, firefighters made an interior attack on the fire and held the spread to the first floor.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing extensive overhaul. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, however the occupants were displaced from the residence and alternate living arrangements were made with relatives.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau of the North County Fire Authority.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
