Structure Fire in Daly City

On January 28, 2013 at 1:18 p.m., 5 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at 166 Parkview Avenue in Daly City.

The first arriving Chief Officer reported smoke showing from the front entrance of the two-story apartment building. Fire companies made access to the interior of the building and located the fire in the walls of the structure and using hose lines extinguished the fire. All residents were able to safely evacuate and fire companies remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul operations.

Two apartments sustained damage resulting in four adults and one child being displaced. Red Cross was contacted to coordinate alternate living arrangements with the victims and there were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.

The fire cause and origin is being conducted by the fire investigators from the Fire Prevention Services Bureau.  The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors.
