On October 26, 2020 at 8:58 AM., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 68 Franciscan Drive in the City of Daly City.
The first arriving fire companies found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the single-family manufactured home. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the living room, bedroom, and bathroom with smoke damage throughout the rest of the structure.
Fire companies remained on scene for over 4 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 1 resident was displaced by the fire and is seeking housing assistance through the American Red Cross.
There was 1 nonlife-threating firefighter injury as a result of this fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Division.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
