On January 13, 2014 at 10:26 p.m., 7 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officer and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at a residence located at 3175 Geneva Avenue in Daly City.
The first arriving fire company reported fire showing from the outside of single story family residence. All occupants had evacuated the home and fire companies utilizing hose lines extinguished the fire. Fire companies remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing extensive overhaul.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, however 5 adults were displaced from the residence and alternate living arrangements were being made through family members.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau of the North County Fire Authority. Additionally, the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
