Single Alarm Structure Fire in Pacifica
On August 29, 2012 at 5:11 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 6 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at 704 Claridge Drive in Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames showing from the roof and sides of the two-story single family residence. Fire companies made entry into the home and located the fire in the rear of the structure and using hose lines extinguished the fire. All residents inside the home were able to safely evacuate and fire crews remained on scene for approximately two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul operations. There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters however 8 adults and 1 child were displaced and the Red Cross is coordinating alternate living arrangements for the fire victims.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
