Single Alarm Structure Fire- Pacifica

On June 5, 2012 at 11:07 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of smoke and flames in a house at 1347 Redwood Way in Pacifica.

The first arriving fire companies reported a working fire in the attic of the two-story single family residence. Fire companies made entry into the home and using hose lines extinguished the fire, which was contained to the area of origin. All residents were able to safely evacuate and fire personnel remained on scene for approximately two and one-half hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to the residents or fire personnel and the four adults and one child residing at the home were able to find alternate living arrangements.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
