On March 3, 2012 at 3:45 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at 664 Hickey Blvd. in Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames showing from the ground floor garage area of two-story apartment building. Fire companies made entry into the garage and using hose lines extinguished the fire which was contained to a laundry room. Fire crews remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes completing overhaul and there were no injuries or displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
