Single Alarm Structure Fire in Daly City

On April 6, 2012 at 7:31 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officer, 1 Breathing Support Unit and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at 241 Station Street in Daly City.

The first arriving fire company reported a working firing in the area of the first floor garage of the tow-story single family residence. All occupants had safely evacuated the home and fire companies made entry with a hose line and quickly located and extinguished the fire. Fire companies were able to contain the fire to the area of origin which included the garage and a back bedroom.

Fire crews remained on scene for approximately 3 hours checking for further extension of the fire and performing overhaul. There were no injuries involved, however two adults were displaced from the residence and Red Cross was contacted to assist with alternate living arrangements.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
