Single Alarm Structure Fire in Daly City

On January 7, 2012 at 1:51 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a residential structure fire at 328 Winchester Street in Daly City.

The first arriving fire crew reported smoke showing from the garage of the two-story single family residence with smoke detectors activated in the upstairs living area. Fire companies made entry into the garage and using a hose line located and extinguished the fire. The fire was contained to the area of origin and fire companies remained on scene for approximately one hour completing overhaul. There were no injuries involved and the residents were not displaced.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
