Single Alarm Electrical Fire in Daly City

On August 9, 2012 at 2:18 p.m., 4 Fire Companies 1 Chief Officer and 1 Fire Investigator responded to an electrical fire at 890 Skyline Drive in Daly City.

Fire companies arrived at scene and made entry into the single family residence and reported smoke inside and extreme heat to one of the interior walls. Upon inspection of the home’s exterior, crews located an energized weather head which had sent an electrical charge throughout the home. Fire companies shut off all utilities to the residence and secured the area until PG&E personnel could arrive to shut off power to the home from the utility pole. As a result of the loss of utilities, five adults and one child were displaced and Red Cross was contacted to assist with alternate living arrangements. There were no injuries involved and crews remained on scene for approximately two hours until PG&E was able to secure the utilities.
