Second Alarm Structure Fire in Brisbane

On April 11, 2013 at 2:50 p.m., 10 Fire Companies, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 6 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of an explosion at 467 Sierra Point Road in Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames coming from the below grade two-story single family residence and immediately requested additional resources. Fire companies made entry into the home and using hose lines extinguished the fire. All residents were able to safely evacuate and fire crews were able to contain the fire to the first floor.

Fire crews remained on scene for several hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overall operations. There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians and the three adults who were displaced from the home made alternate living arrangements.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
