Residential Structure Fire in Daly City

On April 9, 2019, at 10:05 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 537 Skyline Dr. in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found smoke and fire coming from the roof and garage of a single-family home with attached garage. Firefighters entered through the front door to conduct search and rescue. Simultaneously, other firefighters entered the garage using fire attack hose lines to extinguished and contained the blaze to the kitchen area and adjacent living room wall.  During search and rescue operation, it was determined there were no victims trapped or needing help.

Fire companies remained on scene for over one and a half hours checking for fire extension, completing salvage and overhaul operations. The fire displaced six residents and one pet, which were managed to have their owned living arrangements. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
