On June 25, 2015 at approximately 9:51 A.M, 7 fire companies, 2 chief officers and 1 fire investigator responded to a structure fire at 247 Avalon Dr. in Daly City.
The first arriving fire company encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the one story residence. Fire companies made entry into the garage and using hose lines extinguished the fire and at the same completed a primary search looking for any victims. Firefighters were successful in quickly holding the fire to the rear of the garage. Due to an aggressive quick attack and fast response to the scene fire damage was limited to the rear of the garage.
Fire companies remained on scene for approximately 2 hours checking for further extension of the fire, as well as completing salvage and overhaul operations. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority, Prevention Services Bureau.
The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes and businesses.
