Multiple Alarm Residential Structure Fire in Daly City

On June 10 at 6:08 p.m., 10 Fire Companies, 4 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 1 EMS Supervisor, 1 Medic Unit and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at a residence located at 220 Accacia Street in Daly City.

The first arriving fire company reported heavy smoke and fire coming for the front portion of a two-story, single family residence. Fire companies utilizing hose lines made an interior attack on the fire, which had spread throughout the second floor and was threatening adjacent residences on both sides of the home on fire.  Firefighters were successful in their aggressive fire attack and no other homes were damaged by the flames.  Two occupants of the home had self-evacuated, prior to arrival of the fire companies, but required treatment by firefighter/paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.  Both occupants were transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation and medical care.

Fire companies remained on scene for over two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul and salvage operations. There were no injuries to firefighters, however the occupants were displaced from the residence and alternate living arrangements were made with relatives.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Services Bureau of the North County Fire Authority.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home.
