Commercial Structure Fire in Daly City

On October 25, 2017 at 2:53 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a commercial structure fire at the 7-11 convenience store, 1010 Hillside Boulevard in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the front of the store’s roof and ground level of a single story, convenience store.  Firefighters made entry into the store and found smoke coming from the attic, and immediately began evacuating remaining employees. Fire companies ventilated the roof and used hose lines to contain the fire to the front storeroom and front exterior wall, where construction work had been taking place. Despite smoke damage to the rest of the store, firefighters were able to salvage some of the store’s merchandise by aggressively moving shelving away from the area involved in the fire.

Fire companies remained on scene for over an hour and a half checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations.  There were no injuries to any of the customers, employees or firefighters.

The San Mateo County Health Department was contacted as normal procedure due to food merchandise being in the store. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
