Commercial Apartment Structure Fire in Daly City

On December 7, 2014 at 11:26 a.m., 9 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers, 1 Information Officer and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a commercial residential apartment structure fire at 101 Palmcrest Drive #15 in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from a second floor unit of a three-story residential commercial apartment building. Using fire attack hose line, firefighters made entry and worked their way up to the second floor of the apartment complex unit that was on fire and while searching the residential unit extinguished the fire, holding the fire damage to the involved unit only. There were no victims found in the apartment during the search and suppression operations.

Fire companies remained on scene for over an hour and a half checking for further extension of the fire and completing salvage and overhaul operations. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. One resident was displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.  The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes.
