On December 11, 2012 4:24a.m., 3 Fire Companies, 1 Rescue Unit and 1 Chief Officer responded to a cliff rescue in the area of Skyline Boulevard & Olympic Way in Daly City. The first arriving fire company reported a single vehicle approximately 300 feet down the cliffside. Fire crews set up a cliff rescue operation using a winch to gain access to the victim. Fire paramedics evaluated, packaged and carried to the top of the bluff where he was transferred to an ambulance and transported to a local area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The incident was mitigated in approximately one hour and the accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
