Cliff Rescue at Palisades Park in Daly City

On January 28, 2012 at 3:23pm, 3 Fire Companies, 1 Rescue Unit and 1 Chief Officer responded to a possible cliff rescue in the area of Palisades Park located at Palisades Drive & Westridge Avenue in Daly City. The first arriving fire company on scene located the adult male victim approximately 200 feet below the bluff. Fire crews set up a cliff rescue operation using a picket system and gained access to the victim. He was then placed into a safety harness and assisted back up to the bluff.

Fire paramedics and ambulance personnel evaluated and treated the victim for minor abrasions and he refused transport to a hospital. The incident was mitigated in approximately one hour.
