Brush Fire in Pacifica

On July 7, 2013 8 fire companies, 3 chief officers and one fire investigator responded to a brush fire in the area 1111 Terra Nova Blvd. in the City of Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company on scene reported a large spot of brush burning and threatening homes and requested additional resources. Difficult access to the fire resulted in flames coming close to damaging structures, but firefighters mounted an aggressive fire attack with hose lays stopping the spread at approximately ½ an acre.  Fire companies were able to get hose lines around the incident and fully extinguish fire, including mop up and overhaul in about 2 hours.

There was no damage to homes or property and there were no injuries to firefighters or the public.

The cause of the fire was determined to be from fireworks and continues to be under investigation by the North County fire Authority Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority reminds all residents to cut down and remove all dry vegetation around homes and businesses.
