On October 19, 2013, at approximately 3:54, 11 fire companies, 2 hand crews, 2 air tankers, 1 helicopter,1 water tender, 3 chief officers, one fire investigator and one public information officer responded to a brush fire in the area of 451 Milagra Drive in the City of Pacifica.
The five acre brush fire came within 20 feet of threatening homes. An aggressive attack was mounted and the fire was controlled and fully extinguished in one hour.
20 residents from some homes on Manor Drive were temporarily evacuated.
No firefighters or residents were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
The incident was fully mitigated in approximately 4 hours.
The North County Fire Authority reminds all residents to cut down and remove all dry vegetation around homes and businesses.
