2nd Alarm Structure Fire in Pacifica

On October 18, 2012 at 12:58 p.m., 9 Fire Companies, 8 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 2 Fire Investigators and 1 Information Officer responded to a report of a structure fire at 1014 Big Bend Drive in Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company reported a working structure fire with smoke and flames coming from the two-story single family residence and immediately requested additional resources. Using hose lines firefighters gained access to the home an extinguished the fire. One resident at home at the time was able to safely evacuate prior to fire personnel’s arrival. There was extensive damage to the first and second floor of the home and fire crews remained on scene for several hours completing extensive overhaul.  

There were no residents or firefighters injured however, the three residents were displaced from the home and were able to find alternate living arrangements. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
