2nd Alarm Structure Fire in Daly City

On March 4, 2019 at 8:09 a.m., 9 Engine Companies, 2 Truck Companies, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 3 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a house fire at 235 Oliver Street in Daly City.

The first arriving fire company was on scene within minutes after being dispatched and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the second floor of the single-family home. Firefighters used hose lines to confine the fire to the front half of the second floor.  There was smoke damage throughout the rest of the second floor of the dwelling, as well as minor damage to the first floor.

The fire was controlled quickly due to an aggressive fire attack.  Complete extinguishment and overhaul were completed in approximately 2.5 hours. One civilian was transported to hospital with moderate injuries; no firefighters were injured.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
