2nd Alarm Structure Fire in Daly City

On June 14, 2018 at 2:02 p.m., 11 Fire Companies, 4 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 68 Parkwood Drive in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire companies found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the two-story, single family home. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the roof and ceiling areas of the second floor living areas, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

Fire companies remained on scene for over three hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. Two residents were displaced by the fire.  There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
