2nd Alarm Structure Fire in Daly City

On July 4, 2014 at 12:59 p.m., 10 Fire Companies, 4 Chief Officers, 1 EMS Supervisor, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 1 Fire Investigator and 1 Information Officer responded to a 2 Alarm Structure Fire at 25 Camelot Court in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found a vehicle and two-story single family  structure fully involved with fire on both floors of the single family residence.  Fire companies made entry into the home and using hose lines, extinguished the flames and at the same time completed a search and rescue operation looking for occupants. It was determined after the search of the residence, that there was no one home at the time of the fire.

Fire companies remained on scene for over two hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Two residents who lived in the home were displaced by the fire and were seeking housing assistance through the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.  The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes.
