On March 28, 2018 at 6:17 p.m., 3 Fire Companies, 1 Rescue Unit and 1 Chief Officer responded to a cliff rescue at Palmetto Avenue and Westline Drive in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company found a vehicle that had driven off Westline Drive onto the beach below, with the vehicle landing on its roof. Firefighter/paramedics scaled down the hill and treated an adult female who was in critical condition. Due to the steep terrain and severity of injuries, the patient was transported by CHP helicopter to a local trauma center.
There were no injuries to any of the firefighters, and the incident was mitigated in one and a half hours.
