On September 16, 2013, at 3:02 a.m. 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 51 Gateway Drive in the City of Pacifica.
The first arriving fire company on scene reported smoke coming from a single family residence. Fire companies located the fire and using hose lines were able to contain the fire to the floor of origin. Fire companies remained on scene for approximately two and one-half hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, but 7 occupants were displaced by the fire and will be residing with relatives.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority’s Fire Prevention Services Bureau. The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
